I have studied history at GCSE and A-Level and have loved every minute of it. My next step is taking what i have learnt onto studying at university. The topics I have studied at GCSE level are Power and the People, Conflict and Tension leading up to the Second World War, America during the years of Isolationism prohibition and the early 1900s to mid 1900s, Elizabethan England / Tudor England, Nazi Germany. I have studied the following topics at A level, Germany between the years 1870 to 1991, the making of modern Britain 1951 to 2010, witchcraft in the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries. I would be able to produce structured lessons that would benefit students who are in need of help whether that be with ways to revise and remember or if they need help seeing / learning a different way to what they do in school. With my experience one to one tutoring is the best way to learn as both student and teacher get to know what works between them and especially for the teacher it helps them structure the lessons according to the students needs. My lessons would focus on retrieval quizzes and how to retain and remember the knowledge, and then one of my big focuses is on how to structure the essay. Structuring an essay is one of the most simplest parts of learning the subject of history but is often what most students struggle and get wrong. I would ensure every student I teach knows how to structure an essay answer to maximise the marks on the question and they are confident when they go into an exam.
