I am a retired History teacher who taught in the US School system for 31 years, both at our secondary level and at University. I have a Bachelor of Arts, and a Master of Arts in history, as well as a Master of Arts degree in Medieval Studies. I taught Advanced Placement US History and European History. My passion is British Medieval History. I have also taught Geography and World History with an emphasis on Classical Education. I have a multi facted approach to teaching History which combines the use of primary sources, discovery, project based learning and open ended discussion. I believe that learning something new is usually not easy and will not promise that everything will be fun, but I will try to make learning about history interesting and rewarding. I will listen to the needs of the student, suggest strategies to help achieve their goals and maybe even instill a love...or at least interest, in history! I look forward to helping students achieve their goals and have a successful academic experience.
I have used the traditional powerpoint and lecture format, but for online instruction, there will be a more interactive approach which could include multi media session, primary source reading, question and answer session and other methods to instruction.
