My teaching style is honest and direct. I'll always give you a clear picture of where you are and exactly what needs to change to get you to the grade you want. Lessons are an hour long and built around your needs as an individual student.
The first lesson will be free and introductory. We'll have a conversation about your target and predicted grades, talk through where you feel confident and where you're struggling, and you'll send me any recent essays beforehand so I can arrive with an informed view of where you currently are. From there, I build a plan tailored specifically to you.
Rather than just talking at you, I get you actively working — every week you'll write a full essay, which I'll return with a detailed feedback plan so you can see your progress and know precisely where to focus next. In lessons, we work through essay plans together using WWW/EBI (What Went Well / Even Better If) so you're always building the skills that translate directly into marks. My goal isn't just to help students meet their target grades but to help them surpass them.
On top of this, I provide tailored resources to reinforce what we cover and support your independent study between sessions.
Topics covered: South Africa, The Tudors, Civil Rights.
