Advert description
I'm a first-year History undergraduate at Durham University, having achieved A*AA at A-level (History, English Literature, and English Language) alongside an A* in my EPQ, exceeding my predicted grades of BAA. Alongside such, I have completed the following GCSES- English Literature (9), Chinese (8), History (8), Religious Studies (7), English Language (7), Biology (6), Chemistry (6), Maths (5).
Having recently navigated A-level History myself, I understand exactly what examiners are looking for and the specific challenges students face, either structuring essays, developing arguments, or tackling unfamiliar source material.
I tailor every session to the individual student, starting by identifying their current strengths and the areas where focused work will make the biggest difference. Rather than just talking at you, I get you actively working — every week you'll write a full essay, which I'll return with a detailed feedback plan so you can see your progress and know precisely where to focus next. In lessons, we work through essay plans together using WWW/EBI (What Went Well / Even Better If) so you're always building the skills that translate directly into marks. On top of this, I provide tailored resources to reinforce what we cover and support your independent study between sessions.
My goal isn't just to help students meet their target grades but to help them surpass them.
