My lessons are structured, focused, and designed to deliver clear progress in every session. Each lesson begins with a short active recall review to reinforce prior learning, strengthen memory, and quickly identify any gaps in understanding. This approach ensures knowledge is retained long term rather than forgotten after revision.

New content is taught through clear, step-by-step explanations, breaking complex historical events, themes, and interpretations into manageable parts. I focus on helping students understand cause, consequence, change, continuity, and significance, enabling them to explain and evaluate events confidently in an exam setting rather than simply recalling facts.

A key part of each lesson is dedicated to exam technique and essay writing. Students are shown how to interpret questions accurately, plan effectively, and construct well-argued essays using precise, relevant evidence. We practise both structured planning and timed responses, with detailed feedback provided to help students consistently improve and move into higher mark bands.

Lessons are fully tailored to the student’s exam board, syllabus, and individual needs. Whether a student needs support building core knowledge, improving confidence, or refining top-grade skills, lessons are adapted accordingly. My teaching style is supportive but focused, helping students develop independence, clarity, and the confidence to perform under exam conditions and achieve their full potential in History.
