Advert description
Hello! My name is Muhammad Ali Ozain, and I am currently studying History, Politics, and Economics at University College London. I have always been passionate about history and about helping others understand the past in ways that are both meaningful and engaging. Having achieved an A* in GCSE History and an A in A-Level History, I know what it takes to succeed in exams and to develop strong analytical and writing skills.
I teach history across Key Stage 3, GCSE, and A-Level, and I adapt each lesson to the needs of the individual student. My lessons are designed to build not only subject knowledge but also critical thinking, essay writing, and source analysis skills. Whether you are learning about medieval societies, the world wars, or modern global history, I will help you approach topics with clarity and confidence.
Each lesson follows a structured plan. We begin with a short recap to consolidate previous learning, then move into the core focus of the session, whether that is mastering content, analysing primary sources, or practising exam-style questions. I incorporate interactive activities such as debates, timelines, and visual resources to keep sessions engaging and memorable. At the end of each lesson, I provide a short summary and optional homework tasks to reinforce key ideas.
I believe that history is not just about memorising dates and facts but about understanding people, choices, and consequences. My goal is to help students see the bigger picture, make connections between different periods, and learn to evaluate evidence and arguments. These skills are valuable not only for exams but also for wider academic and personal development.
As someone who has also worked as a research assistant with universities such as Michigan State and Arizona State, I bring an advanced understanding of how to interpret historical narratives and sources. This experience allows me to guide students beyond the surface level, encouraging them to think like historians.
My lessons are student-centred, which means I tailor the pace and focus to individual goals. For exam preparation, I provide targeted practice with mark schemes, essay plans, and revision strategies. For younger students, I place emphasis on building curiosity and confidence. For A-Level students, I focus on essay structure, argument building, and how to reach the higher bands in assessments.
