I’m Nathan Heddle, an experienced History and Politics teacher with more than 25 years’ experience in secondary education in the UK.
My specialist subjects are History and Politics, and I have taught extensively at both GCSE and A-Level. I have also held senior leadership responsibilities, including working as an Assistant Headteacher and Head of Department, giving me a broad understanding of curriculum development, assessment, examination requirements and what helps students make real academic progress. With a background in examining at GCSE and A-level, in both History and Politics, I've the experience in what the exam boards want to ensure student success.
For me, the most rewarding part of teaching is seeing a student develop confidence — whether that is finally understanding a difficult historical topic, learning how to structure a strong essay or beginning to believe that they can achieve a higher grade than they thought possible.
