Advert description
I have recently graduated the University of Edinburgh with a First-Class and Honours. I am passionate about contemporary history, with a particular focus on colonial/post-colonial history, evidenced by my dissertation anaylsing the legislative relationship between Haiti and the metropole from-and as a result the practical application of emancipation in the colony's northern province.
I am also very interested in 19th-20th century European, African and South-east Asian history, from world wars and regional conflicts to imperialism, religion and culture.
From the onset of my university career, I have also tutored with MyTutor as a way to impart my personal passions for history to school children aged 11-18, as well as French and English literature. I have found the chance to improve the education of young people very gratifying.
I complimented my studies with a year abroad in Paris at the Université de Panthéon-Sorbonne, immersing myself in the French culture, both socially and academically. I was able to further my passions in areas such as the French Revolution, whilst also igniting new interests in areas such as South African 20th century history. I am truly grateful for this wonderful experience.
As such, I have a broad background of not only research experience and interests but also tutoring, which I feel are skills suited for the role of tutor with your organisation.
Thank you
