The student tells me in advance a topic they want to cover allowing me to roughly plan the lesson. For the first 30-40 minutes I simplify difficult concepts and fill gaps in your knowledge by asking you questions along the way; I don't want to teach students what they already know and understand. Then the remainder of the lesson I give questions to the student which i hope the student can answer with more confidence. Over several months I can expect the students to gain more confidence across topics and improve their performance in assessments.
