Pablo Lacalle Castillo

I am a postgraduate student of the University of Edinburgh, English Literature, MA Hons and a graduate of Runnymede College, Madrid. I have an IELTS certificate from 2019, with an 8.5 average, and speak both Englis and Spanish. I have experience teaching English to foreign speakers in Nairobi, Kenya at the Mercy Mukuru Promotion Centre, and have also collaborated with bilingual speakers in Spain.

I will ask a student to identify their desired goal, area of interest or what they wish to improve/work on. Open to flexible, adaptable and dynamic lesson plans as per the students interests and needs. My field of expertise is English Literature, including poetry, performance and prose, both classical and contemporary. Analysis of literary texts and help for students struggling with reading material can and will be provided. Lessons focusing on grammar and vocabulary as well as developing sophisticated forms of expression are also an option. I am also able to provide advice and guidance on creative writing and how to improve personally as a writer. Main priority is to create an engaging, productive work environment free from anxiety and stress. My aim is to create a calm and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace, while steadily improving both their understanding and exam performance.
