My lessons are structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s individual needs. I begin by identifying the student’s level, strengths, and areas for improvement, and then plan lessons that are clear, focused, and easy to follow.
I use a step-by-step approach, breaking down complex ideas into simple and manageable parts to ensure full understanding. For students who need additional support, especially EAL learners, I use scaffolding techniques and adapt my language to make learning accessible and effective.
Lessons are interactive and engaging, combining explanation, guided practice, and independent work. I regularly check understanding, provide clear feedback, and adjust the pace to suit the student. I also include exam practice and strategies where needed, particularly for GCSE students.
I have over 10 years of experience working in a secondary school as an EAL Coordinator, supporting students from a wide range of backgrounds, including beginners in English. This experience allows me to adapt my teaching to different learning styles and confidence levels.
My aim is to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable, motivated, and confident to make progress.
