Lily Hemsley

About me:

Hi! I am Lily, and I am just beginning my role as a tutor. I do not have a lot of experience in tutoring, but I am sure I will be able to cater to your needs and provide useful academic support. I achieved 10 GCSEs at grade A*-A (one A, the rest A*), and A* A B at A-Level alongside an A* EPQ. I am currently studying Medicine at the University of Southampton, a course which is very content-heavy!
I have lots of experience working with young people from being an active volunteer for Girlguiding, both as a leader and as a peer educator. I also work in a children's shoe shop, so I have experience working with young people of all ages, from toddlers up to sixth formers.

My tutoring:

All of my sessions are tailored to the student's needs. I want my students to feel like they can ask me anything, and I will do my best to answer accurately, and find out the answer for them if I am unsure.
Having only finished sixth form just over a year ago, I understand how difficult it is to manage exam stress when balancing several different subjects at once, so I will do my best to plan helpful and effective tutoring sessions to suit their needs. I went to an all-girls grammar school for 7 years, so I am well disciplined and have lots of educational experience to pass on.
At the end of each session, we will establish a list of topics they would like me to cover next time, so that I can plan and create some useful resources to use.
