What My Lessons Are Like

My lessons are designed to be clear, structured, and fully tailored to each student. Whether you are studying GCSE Chemistry, GCSE Physics, or A Level Chemistry, I adapt every session to your current level, goals, and learning style.

Lessons are delivered online using Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Whiteboard, creating an interactive classroom environment where we can work through explanations, diagrams, calculations, and exam questions together in real time. I also use digital resources and presentations when needed to support understanding and visual learning.

With over 15 years of teaching experience in schools and colleges, and a background as a research scientist, I bring both academic depth and real-world perspective to my teaching. This helps me explain complex scientific ideas in a simple and relatable way, often using everyday examples and analogies that make difficult topics easier to grasp.

A typical lesson includes a short review of prior learning, introduction of new content, guided practice, and focused exam questions. I place strong emphasis on exam technique, helping students understand question wording, structure answers effectively, and maximise marks in assessments.

I also provide regular practice questions and homework to reinforce learning between sessions. Students are encouraged to ask questions at any time, and I offer additional support outside lesson time through Microsoft Teams when needed.

My aim is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to build confidence, independence, and a deeper understanding of science. I believe every student can succeed with the right guidance, patience, and approach, and I work closely with each learner to help them reach their full potential.
