The Enthusiastic Scientist and Experienced Teacher

Hello, I’m Dr. Lokman Khan, an experienced Science teacher and online tutor with over 15 years of teaching experience in GCSE Chemistry, GCSE Physics, and A Level Chemistry.

I hold a PhD in Chemistry and a degree in Chemistry and Physics. Before focusing on teaching, I spent 10 years working as a research scientist at a leading university, giving me valuable insight into how Science works beyond the classroom.

Since 2006, I have taught students from Year 7 through to A Level and currently teach Chemistry in a large sixth form college. My lessons are tailored to each student’s needs, helping them build confidence, strengthen understanding, and achieve their academic goals.

I specialise in making difficult concepts easy to understand by using clear explanations, real-world examples, and relatable analogies. I also have extensive experience preparing students for exams, particularly helping them tackle complex, wordy questions and develop effective exam techniques.

Lessons are delivered online through Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Whiteboard, creating an interactive and engaging learning environment. Students also receive exam-style practice questions and ongoing support between lessons when needed.
