I am an experienced Chemistry teacher with 14 years of classroom experience at a leading independent school in the South East. I have taught Chemistry across the full secondary age range, from KS3 through to GCSE and A Level, supporting students with a wide range of abilities, ambitions and learning needs.
My approach is centred on helping students develop a secure understanding of the fundamental principles of Chemistry. Once these foundations are in place, I support students in building confidence, improving their problem-solving skills and progressing towards a genuine mastery of the subject.
Lessons are tailored to the individual needs of each student and may include clear explanations of difficult concepts, guided practice, examination-style questions, regular testing and detailed discussion. I encourage students to ask questions, explain their thinking and engage actively with the material rather than simply memorising facts.
I can support students who are:
struggling with particular topics or lacking confidence;
looking to strengthen their core knowledge;
preparing for school assessments, GCSEs or A Levels;
aiming to improve their examination technique;
working towards the highest possible grades.
My lessons are structured, supportive and academically focused. I aim to create an environment in which students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions and developing the knowledge, confidence and analytical skills they need to become successful, independent Chemistry students.
The question is never "Why don't you know that?" and always "Tell me what you DO know."
