The format I like to use for my lessons is primarily an engaging type. Throughout my lessons I like to constantly ask students to fill in the blank or answer questions to make sure they’re are focussed and engaged and ensure that they are understanding the topic. This also helps me understand which points students may be struggling with. I like to use diagrams and pictures as a visual way of representing content, however I am very flexible and can change my teaching style to fit any learning type the student may prefer. I like to start my lessons by ensuring last weeks content has been retained by doing a retrieval task then slowly introducing this weeks topic into the lesson. At the end I do a task to make sure the topic is solidified after the lesson. I will also ask questions throughout to ensure the student is not falling behind and is understanding what I am teaching. I encourage students to ask questions to consolidate their learning. My past experiences have included tutoring in person and remotely on various sites. I have been tutoring Chemistry for over a year now and achieved an A in Chemistry in my A-levels so I have a solid understanding of the entire course. I have experience tutoring one on one and in a group which has given me various experiences of how students work and different learning types that I may need to adapt to in order for a student to learn best.
