My lessons are relaxed, structured, and tailored to what each student actually needs. I don't follow a one-size-fits-all approach — every session starts by identifying where the student is struggling and building from there.
I focus on the three things that make the biggest difference in History: essay technique, source analysis, and knowing how to structure answers that pick up maximum marks. I use past papers and mark schemes throughout so students get familiar with exactly what examiners are looking for. I also help students develop the habit of backing up every argument with specific evidence, which is what separates average answers from high-scoring ones.
Having completed my History GCSE with a 7 and now studying it at A-Level, I am genuinely ahead of the content and remember exactly what it feels like to work through it under pressure. I know the parts that trip students up, the common mistakes that cost marks, and how to explain things in a way that actually clicks rather than just repeating the textbook.
My lessons are calm and supportive — I want every student to feel comfortable asking questions without feeling judged. Progress comes from understanding events and arguments in context, not just memorising dates, and I make sure students leave each session with more clarity than they came in with. I also set small tasks between sessions where needed to keep progress consistent.
I am best suited to KS3 and GCSE students in Years 7–11 who want patient, clear support from someone who has recently been through it themselves and knows what works.
