Jacob Kinsella

Hello! I’m a PhD-qualified chemist with a specialism in organic chemistry, and a graduate of the University of Manchester. I’ve also completed a PhD in chemistry and electrophysiology at Leeds, and I’m delighted to have been offered a place at the University of Cambridge to pursue a PGCE this September.

I love teaching because I enjoy helping students realise their true potential. My lessons are student-led, focused on understanding and applying concepts rather than rote memorisation. I use step-by-step explanations, metaphors, and analogies to make complex ideas accessible, and I tailor each session to the student’s pace and style.

My goal is to help students think critically, gain confidence, and enjoy learning chemistry — whether they are preparing for GCSEs, A-Levels, or simply want to deepen their understanding. I find it incredibly rewarding to watch students develop not just knowledge, but the skills and curiosity to succeed on their own.
