My History lessons are friendly, engaging and personalised to each student’s needs, interests and goals. I believe History is much more than memorising dates and names—it is about understanding people, ideas, decisions and events, and how they have shaped the world we live in today.

I have over ten years’ experience working in specialist educational settings, supporting children and young people with a wide range of learning needs. This has taught me how to adapt explanations, activities and resources to different learning styles, abilities and levels of confidence. I bring the same flexible, patient and supportive approach to History tutoring.

For GCSE students, lessons can focus on developing subject knowledge, understanding key events and themes, analysing historical sources, interpreting evidence and preparing effectively for examinations. I can also help with revision strategies, essay planning, exam-style questions and developing clear, well-structured answers. Lessons can be adapted to complement what you are already studying at school, focusing particularly on topics or skills where you would benefit from additional support.

Lessons may include discussion, questioning, timelines, source analysis, historical comparisons and exploring different perspectives. I encourage students to explain their ideas, make connections between events and develop their own conclusions, helping them build confidence, subject knowledge and critical-thinking skills.

My particular interests include ancient, British and world history, as well as the cultures and societies that have shaped our world. Whether you are preparing for GCSE exams, catching up on a challenging topic or simply want to explore History in greater depth, I aim to make every lesson engaging, accessible and rewarding.
