Hello! I am a friendly and experienced Chemistry tutor with a BSc and Master’s degree in Chemistry, as well as a PhD in Chemistry and Chemical Biology. I have spent the past four years teaching both foundation-level and advanced chemistry, and I have experience supporting students with a range of abilities and additional learning needs.

I offer lessons for GCSE, A-level and undergraduate students. My aim is to make chemistry clear, manageable and interesting, especially when a topic initially feels difficult or overwhelming. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt the pace, explanations and activities to suit each individual.

At the beginning of our lessons, we will identify the topics you want to improve and discuss what you already understand. I will then break complex ideas into smaller, logical steps, using diagrams, worked examples and real-world applications where helpful. Rather than simply giving you the answer, I will ask questions and encourage you to explain your reasoning so that I can identify misconceptions and help you develop a deeper understanding.

Lessons may include reviewing key theory, working through calculations, practising exam questions and improving exam technique. We can cover topics such as atomic structure, bonding, quantitative chemistry, energetics, rates, equilibrium, acids and bases, organic chemistry, analytical techniques and practical skills. I can also help undergraduate students strengthen their understanding of more advanced concepts.

I create a patient and positive learning environment where questions are always welcome and mistakes are treated as a valuable part of learning. We will regularly check your understanding and revisit difficult areas until you feel confident.
