My lessons are one-to-one and strongly exam-focused, with a clear emphasis on helping students perform confidently in GCSE and A-level Chemistry assessments. I regularly use past paper questions to show students how topics are examined in practice and how marks are awarded, so they understand not only the content but also how to structure clear, high-scoring answers. Each lesson typically begins with a brief review of the topic to ensure the underlying concepts are well understood, followed by guided practice using exam-style questions.
During lessons, we work through questions step by step, analysing mark schemes in detail to identify what examiners are looking for and where students commonly lose marks. I place particular emphasis on correcting misconceptions, improving scientific language, and developing efficient problem-solving strategies under exam conditions. With four years of experience teaching GCSE and A-level Chemistry in a one-to-one setting, my goal is to build strong foundations while steadily improving exam technique, accuracy, and confidence, helping students approach exams in a structured and calm way.
I also adapt the pace and difficulty of each lesson to suit the student’s level and exam board requirements, ensuring that weaker areas are addressed while strengths are reinforced. Homework and targeted practice questions are often set between lessons to consolidate learning. Over time, students develop better exam awareness, improved time management, and greater confidence in tackling unfamiliar questions independently.
