My lessons are structured, engaging, and tailored to each student’s individual needs and goals. As a medical student, I have developed strong scientific understanding and effective study techniques, which I incorporate into my teaching to help students learn efficiently and confidently. I begin by identifying a student’s strengths and areas for improvement, then create a clear, personalised plan to target gaps in knowledge while reinforcing key concepts.
Each lesson typically includes concise explanations, worked examples, and active recall techniques to promote deep understanding rather than memorisation. I also revisit topics regularly to ensure long-term retention. A key focus of my teaching is exam technique. I use exam-style questions in every session, guiding students step-by-step through how to approach them and helping them understand exactly what examiners are looking for. This builds confidence, improves accuracy, and develops strong problem-solving skills.
Having achieved a grade 9 at GCSE and an A* at A level in Chemistry, I understand the specification in depth and know the most effective strategies for success. I also completed the Cambridge Chemistry Challenge, earning a Bronze award, which allows me to challenge and stretch high-achieving students aiming for top grades.
My teaching style is friendly, supportive, and patient. I aim to create a comfortable environment where students feel confident asking questions and actively engaging as I feel that is what works best while still being pushed to reach their full potential.
I also provide guidance on revision techniques, organisation and exam preparation outside of lessons, ensuring students feel fully supported throughout their learning.
