My lessons are tailored to each student and the areas they want to improve. I usually begin by identifying topics or types of questions they find difficult, before working through examples together and breaking the method down into clear, manageable steps.
I make regular use of real past-paper questions, as I think these are one of the best ways to build both mathematical understanding and exam confidence. I encourage students to attempt questions themselves, stepping in with different explanations or methods when needed, before gradually getting them to work more independently as their confidence grows. I set small quantities of tailored homework for each student to work through between sessions so that they are much more proficient in the topic on their own which is key for examinations.
The format I use for sessions can vary depending on the students equipment or is the session is online or in person. I will often use the platform 'Goodnotes' for online tutoring as it is free for students to access and they can upload their own resources from school lessons to work through if necessary. If students prefer working on paper that will also work. In person, I also use 'Goodnotes' as it works as a virtual whiteboard where we can take turns working through answers and can keep a copy of everything covered in the lesson which may be important for revision in the future.
Furthermore, I have over 2 years of experience tutoring GCSE as well as A-Level maths and further maths throughout all topics required for final exams and I believe that I offer a great service at a reasonable price to all of my students.
