Joanne Murphy

In 2004 I gained my BA(Hons) in mathematics with education. I have found great inspiration in the subject of mathematics over the years. I am keen to pass on this enthusiasm to the students that I work with. I have worked with children and young people for many years both in a voluntary and work capacity. I will start by working through a structured scheme of work. This will flag up any misconceptions in particular topics as well as any areas of interest. The plan will then be to gradually develop individual hands-on resources for your young person and to make relevant links to other subjects such as science and design technology. The aim is to capture an interest and to draw out the genuinely interesting parts of the subject. Within my tuition service there is more weight on reviving a love of learning than on covering the whole syllabus.
I am able to provide online tuition, but face to face tuition, at a mutually agreeable venue is preferable given the practical nature of creating practical resources.
