I'm a fully qualified maths teacher with 15 years of tutoring experience and 8 years as a qualified maths teacher working in schools helping students of all abilities develop confidence and achieve their goals.
I offer 45–60 minute one-to-one lessons that are carefully tailored to each student's individual needs.
I specialise in:
Key Stage 3 Maths GCSE Maths (all major exam boards) Functional Skills Maths Exam preparation and exam technique Building confidence in maths Supporting students with maths anxiety
I also have 4 years' experience teaching maths in a specialist setting, supporting young people with a range of additional needs. I understand that many students struggle with maths because of anxiety rather than ability, so I create a calm, patient and encouraging environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
My aim is not only to help students improve their grades, but to help them become more confident, independent learners who feel capable of tackling maths positively and achieving things they may not have thought possible.
I believe that every young person should have the opportunity to access high-quality maths support, regardless of their financial circumstances.
I recognise that private tutoring is not always accessible for every family, so I offer reduced rates for students eligible for Free School Meals. My aim is to help make personalised maths support available to students who may benefit from it most.
I also volunteer my time supporting refugee students with english and maths tuition, as I strongly believe that education can play an important role in building confidence, independence and future opportunities.
Supporting young people is at the heart of why I teach, and I am passionate about helping students overcome barriers, develop confidence and achieve their goals.
While I typically offer 45–60 minute lessons, I can also accommodate shorter 30-minute sessions where this would better suit the student's age, concentration level or individual needs. These sessions can include a mixture of targeted maths activities, discussion, practice and maths games where appropriate, helping students build skills while developing confidence and enjoyment in the subject.
The most important thing is that each student receives support in a way that works best for them and helps them make meaningful progress.
