Advert description
I believe that mathematics is much more of a skill to be learnt than an innate ability. Many students think that they are simply 'bad' at maths, but I want to show them that, with the right approach and enough practice, they are capable of making real progress.
In my sessions, I use past paper questions to identify areas a student finds difficult and break these down into clear, manageable steps. I am happy to explain a concept in several different ways until we find an approach that makes sense to them, before gradually encouraging them to tackle questions more independently.
I have experience tutoring mathematics to students of different abilities, adapting my lessons to suit each student and focusing on both their understanding and confidence. One of my recent students progressed from a Grade 2 to a Grade 4 in GCSE maths after just over a month of tuition. Having recently achieved A*s in both Mathematics and Further Mathematics at A-Level, I also have a strong understanding of the methods and exam techniques that students can use to improve their performance.
