My lessons are friendly, supportive, and tailored to each student’s goals, strengths, and areas for improvement. I focus not only on learning the content but also on developing strong exam technique with essay writing and how to approach questions, because understanding the topic is only part of achieving high grades in IGCSE History. Having achieved an A* in IGCSE History myself, I understand the methods and strategies that helped me succeed and now use these to support my students.

Each lesson is structured but flexible, depending on what the student needs most. We may start by reviewing key content and building understanding before moving into exam-style questions and applying knowledge under timed conditions. I help students break down difficult topics into clear and manageable ideas so they feel more confident approaching exams.

A large part of my teaching focuses on exam skills and understanding what examiners are looking for. We work on source analysis, interpretation questions, essay structure, evaluation, and how to develop answers that move into higher mark bands. I also teach students how to structure paragraphs, use evidence effectively, and avoid common mistakes that can lose marks.

Alongside this, I share revision techniques, memory methods, note-making strategies, and time management tips that helped me achieve an A*. Students will receive guidance on how to revise efficiently, rather than simply spending more hours studying.

My aim is to create lessons that are engaging, encouraging, and productive while helping students build confidence, improve consistently, and feel fully prepared to achieve their target grades in IGCSE History.
