I’m a PhD-qualified Biology and conservation researcher with a First Class BSc (Hons) in Wildlife & Practical Conservation, and I have experience teaching and supporting university students as well as mentoring adult learners in professional settings.
My lessons are relaxed, supportive and tailored to the individual. I start by finding out what you already understand, where the gaps are, and what you want to achieve. From there, I explain topics clearly from first principles and build up the detail gradually, using diagrams, real-world examples and questions to check understanding as we go.
For GCSE and A-level students, I can help with core Biology content, difficult topics, exam technique, past-paper questions and revision planning. For Access to HE and undergraduate students, I can also support research methods, scientific writing, critical appraisal, data interpretation and study skills.
I do not believe in simply giving students information to memorise. I aim to help you understand why biological processes work the way they do, so that you can apply that knowledge confidently in exams, assignments and further study.
Alongside my academic work, I have many years of experience mentoring and teaching adults through my previous NHS and military roles. I also hold a City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Education and Training and a CMI Level 5 qualification in Management Coaching and Mentoring.
Whether you are preparing for exams, returning to education after a break, struggling with a particular topic or simply want to improve your confidence in Biology, I will adapt the lessons to your pace and goals.
