I tailor each lesson to the student’s current knowledge, goals and preferred way of learning, rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. I explain difficult biology concepts clearly from first principles, using diagrams, real-world examples and practical applications to make topics easier to understand and remember. I then check understanding through discussion, questions and practice tasks, adapting the pace where needed. For GCSE and A-level students, I can focus on syllabus content, exam technique, past-paper questions and confidence building. I can also support Access to HE and undergraduate students with biology, research methods, scientific writing, critical appraisal and study skills. My aim is to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, identifying gaps in understanding and steadily building both knowledge and confidence.
