Advert description
I am a professional composer with a PhD in Composition from King’s College London, offering engaging and personalised lessons for students who want to develop their creativity and musical understanding. I have teaching experience in composition, harmony, music theory, ear training, and classroom music, and I have worked with students of different ages and abilities, from beginners to advanced learners.
My lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, whether they are preparing for GCSE or A level Music, university study, coursework, portfolio development, or simply composing for personal interest. I teach in a clear, supportive, and structured way, breaking down musical ideas into manageable steps so that students can build confidence gradually. I can help with melody writing, harmony, rhythm, structure, texture, notation, analysis, and developing original ideas.
I believe composition should feel inspiring rather than intimidating. My aim is to help students enjoy the process, strengthen their technique, and find their own musical voice. Whether a student needs help getting started or wants to refine more advanced work, I provide lessons that are encouraging, focused, and adapted to individual needs.
