Mariia Khalif

My online music composition lessons are designed to help you transform your musical ideas into original pieces and discover your unique artistic voice.

I am a Ukrainian composer, pianist, vocalist, and music educator with over six years of teaching experience. My musical education includes studies at the Dnipro Academy of Music, the National Music Academy of Ukraine, and the Niccolò Piccinni Conservatory in Bari, Italy, through the Erasmus+ programme.

During our lessons, we can explore melody, harmony, rhythm, musical form, counterpoint, orchestration, arranging, and songwriting. I can help you compose for piano, write songs, develop instrumental pieces, experiment with contemporary music, or prepare for music school entrance exams and auditions.

Every lesson is tailored to your experience, interests, and goals. We can analyse your favourite composers and artists, study how music works, develop your original ideas, and work together on your compositions. I combine academic knowledge with practical exercises and creative experimentation, making complex musical concepts accessible and engaging.

You don't need to be an advanced musician to begin composing! Whether you're a beginner exploring music creation, a songwriter looking to improve your skills, or an experienced musician seeking a deeper understanding of composition, I'll help you find the right approach.

My teaching philosophy is based on balancing musical technique with creativity. I believe that understanding musical principles should empower you to express yourself freely, rather than limit your imagination.

In our online lessons, you'll receive personalised guidance, constructive feedback, and practical tools you can apply to your own music.

Let's develop your ideas, explore new musical possibilities, and bring your compositions to life!
