I am a PhD-qualified composer, experienced music educator and qualified teacher offering personalised lessons in composition, harmony, music theory, aural skills and GCSE Music. I have taught at King’s College London, the University of Surrey, the University of Art in Tehran and in British secondary education.
My lessons are suitable for beginners, school pupils, university students and adult learners. Each lesson is planned around the student’s current level, interests and goals. We may work on developing musical ideas, melody, harmony, rhythm, form, orchestration, notation, score reading, analysis, portfolio preparation or music technology.
I use a practical and supportive approach. Lessons may include listening examples, score study, piano demonstrations, guided exercises and detailed feedback on the student’s own work. I explain complex musical ideas clearly and break larger projects into manageable stages so that students can stay organised and make steady progress.
For composition students, I help develop original ideas while encouraging an individual musical voice. I can support students with school or university assignments, personal projects, examination preparation and creative portfolios. I also help students strengthen the theoretical knowledge needed to understand and improve their music.
My aim is to create a friendly, encouraging and focused learning environment in which students feel comfortable asking questions, experimenting and developing confidence. Lessons are available online and are adapted to the pace and needs of each learner.
