Hello! I'm Elena, a native speaker of German and Italian from Switzerland, now living in Sheffield.

Growing up in a multilingual environment and later becoming fluent in English as a foreign language gave me first-hand experience of what it means to learn, practise, and live in different languages. Because of this, I understand many of the challenges language learners face and can offer practical support, encouragement, and effective learning strategies.

For several years, I was actively involved in a German-speaking community group that brought together learners and native speakers for weekly conversation practice. There, I regularly supported learners, answered language questions, explained vocabulary and grammar, and helped create a welcoming environment for people building confidence in German.

I believe language learning is about more than grammar and vocabulary. Being able to communicate confidently can help people integrate into new communities, build meaningful relationships, and feel more at home wherever they are.
