English Tutor with experience teaching young students aged between 6 and 12 in Taiwan

I am a recent graduate with a Bachelor's degree in History and Contemporary Chinese Studies (BA) from the University of Nottingham. I moved to Taiwan in August 2023 and spent the first four months working as a full-time English Teacher for Shane English School in Hsinchu before switching roles to a substitute teacher in 2024.

I have worked with the textbooks provided by the company and designed detailed lesson plans in line with the company's expectations. I have worked with students assisting them in listening and reading comprehension exercises, taught phonics and science content. Over the last year, I developed an understanding of children's behaviour, refined my classroom management skills, and learnt to modify lesson plans according to the personality of the students and the games they respond best to.

During class, I always encourage my students to practice speaking the language as much as possible, while also paying attention to class engagement and adapting the structure of the lesson accordingly.
