OCR A-Level Chemistry Tuition: Small Group with 1:1 Support for students aiming for A/A

Hi, I'm Ope. I have over 15 years of tutoring experience helping A-Level Chemistry students improve their exam performance while gaining confidence in Chemistry.

My specialism is helping OCR A-Level Chemistry students who understand the content but struggle in exams turn B–C grades into A–A* through structured exam technique training. My hybrid programme combines small group teaching with regular 1:1 support. Each session focuses on three things:

1. Solidifying concepts: We focus on difficult topics according to a predefined curriculum (OCR-based).
2. Mark scheme language: Students learn exactly how examiners award marks and how to structure answers for optimal marks.
3. Exam application: We practise past paper questions, applying learned techniques and analyse mistakes.

Students also get homework for the week to consolidate their knowledge.
This approach helps students turn their understanding into marks.

I run a hybrid programme for OCR A-Level Chemistry students: twice-weekly small group sessions plus regular 1:1 support for each student. It's designed for students working at a B or C and aiming for an A/A* - so all students have a common goal - who want the structure of a course with personalised guidance as they prepare for their final A-Level exams.

All sessions are recorded for playback and include:
• Targeted exam-style questions
• Examiner-level analysis
• Included 1:1 sessions for focused feedback on personal challenges

Small groups (max 6) allow students to learn from each other's reasoning, while 1:1 support helps target individual gaps and keep progress on track. Throughout, parents receive regular progress updates. Price listed is for the hybrid programme. Trial classes are free.
