GCSE Chemistry Tutor – Learn, Practise & Succeed

I am a passionate and dedicated Science tutor with a strong academic background and experience supporting students across different ages and abilities. I hold a BSc in Psychology from King’s College London and a Master’s degree in Child and Adolescent Mental Health from UCL. I received an A* for chemistry in A-levels. I am also currently preparing to begin my Science teacher training, which has further strengthened my subject knowledge and understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies.

My lessons usually begin with a short recap or retrieval activity to strengthen previous learning. I then introduce the new topic by breaking it down into small, manageable steps. I use clear explanations, diagrams, real-life examples and questioning to help students understand not just what the answer is, but why it is the answer.

I encourage students to be actively involved throughout the lesson. Rather than simply listening, they will answer questions, explain concepts in their own words, complete worked examples and apply their knowledge to different situations. I use guided practice first, before giving students the opportunity to work independently.
