11+ English Tutor. Qualified Primary Teacher for Creative Writing, Comprehension and SPaG

Hi, I'm Emma, a qualified primary teacher and founder of Wordy Classroom. I offer online 11+ English tuition for children in Year 4 and Year 5. All lessons are live on Google Meet, one hour long, one-to-one or in a small group of no more than five children.

11+ English is where I do most of my work. We focus on creative writing that scores under time pressure, reading comprehension with a clear method for inference and retrieval questions and the spelling, punctuation and grammar that grammar school and independent school English papers test. When your child is ready, I run timed 11+ mock exams with detailed marking so you know exactly where they stand.

I plan every lesson myself around the children in the group. There is no scripted programme and no worksheets from a drawer. Short homework and regular assessments keep progress visible. Confidence first, then skills, then exam technique, in that order.
