Learn the fundamentals of Fine Art Drawing and Painting

Advert description
Hello! I’m a visual artist and illustrator based in London, with a background in Fine Art and Illustration. I first developed my artistic practice through a Fine Art education in Italy, where I trained extensively in traditional drawing, painting and observational techniques. I now work across both traditional and digital media, and I enjoy sharing the skills and ways of looking that I’ve developed through my own practice.

In my lessons, I can teach the fundamentals of drawing and painting in a clear and approachable way, including observation, proportion, perspective, line, form, shading, composition, colour theory and working from reference. Drawing from the techniques I learned through my Fine Art training in Italy, I particularly enjoy teaching observational drawing, still life, portrait and figure drawing, while encouraging students to develop their own visual style alongside their technical skills.

My lessons are relaxed, practical and adapted to each student. I like to combine demonstrations with guided exercises and independent practice, giving students the opportunity to try techniques themselves rather than simply follow instructions. I’m happy to work with complete beginners, younger students, adults returning to art, or students who want to develop a more specific skill or personal project.

I’m also interested in helping students understand why certain techniques work, rather than simply teaching them how to reproduce an image. I believe that good drawing starts with learning how to properly observe, and that confidence comes through practice, experimentation and understanding.

Alongside my own creative practice, I have experience working in galleries and creative environments, including Rebecca Hossack Gallery and Glassblowing London, as well as professional experience in graphic design and visual communication. These experiences have strengthened my organisation, attention to detail and ability to communicate ideas clearly.

I’m reliable, patient and approachable, and I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and experimenting. Whether the goal is simply to enjoy making art, build technical confidence, develop a portfolio or work towards a personal project, I aim for every lesson to be useful, encouraging and genuinely enjoyable.
