Hi! My name is Ryan, I am PhD researcher with a passion for science and education!

Hello!

My name is Ryan, I am a 2nd year PhD researcher in Bioenergy and Resource Recovery in the School of Chemical and Process Engineering at the University of Leeds. My research combines elements of physics, chemistry, biology, maths, environmental science and geography, and even a few more things! This is what I love the most about what I do, using what I learned from all my favourite subjects in school whilst learning lots of new things along the way.

From my love and interest in the outdoors I became passionate about the environment, which led me to study renewable energy and environmental science, which then fed into my current research. I was pleased to find out that combining various subjects and disciplines from school could contribute to finding some of the solutions to todays environmental problems! I hope that my experience and choices throughout my studies could not just help you with your current school studies but also guide you with your own further education or career choices.

As someone who has gone through the entire education system here in the UK I am familiar with the challenges that students face, and I believe that with the right help everyone can succeed and in doing so feel more confident with the next challenge.
