Advert description
I am an experienced secondary Maths teacher and SENCo, specialising in supporting students to develop their confidence, understanding and independence in Maths. I teach GCSE Maths and have extensive experience working with students with a wide range of abilities and additional learning needs.
My lessons are calm, supportive and tailored to each student’s individual starting point. I break mathematical concepts into clear, manageable steps, identify gaps in prior knowledge and use questioning, modelling and worked examples to build understanding progressively.
As a SENCo, I understand that students do not all learn in the same way. I adapt my teaching to suit individual needs and work particularly well with students who may find Maths challenging, lack confidence or need concepts explained in a different way. I aim to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and trying again.
Lessons can focus on strengthening core mathematical skills, revisiting difficult topics, supporting current schoolwork or preparing for GCSE examinations. My aim is not simply to help students reach the correct answer, but to help them understand why a method works so that they can apply their knowledge independently.
Most importantly, I want students to leave lessons feeling that Maths is something they can do.
