Advert description
Firstly, my name is Dionne and thank you for taking an interest in my work!
I have an LLB (Hons) degree with First Class Honours from GCU, as well as an LLM (Medical Law and Ethics) with Distinction from The University of Edinburgh. At present, I'm undertaking my PhD in law back at GCU, with a focus on dispute resolution in paediatric care disputes. Having been a lecturer in college and university programmes, I aim to make my lessons informative, effective, but most importantly, fun! Learning can often be a daunting experience for students at any level, and to me, it is important to acknowledge that the enjoyment of a subject is reflected within the final result of assessment or exams.
In my lessons, you will get to put your skills into practice through a variety of tasks - I often use active learning strategies to keep us on track and focused, and it means you can participate in lessons rather than sitting in silence. The law can be tricky, and often, requires patience and resilience in developing your understanding - something I can support you with.
I teach various areas of law, with medical law, and child law being my speciality. However, I also teach criminal, human rights, public, family, contract, and delict - the list goes on! Whilst I am a Scots Law Academic, please note that I do also have a general understanding of wider legal systems within the United Kingdom.
I look forward to working with those with an interest - don't hesitate to get in touch!
