Hi! I’m Akane, a Japanese tutor and barista living in Glasgow. I love travelling, driving, and enjoying good food (especially sushi and chocolate)!

I’ve been working as a Japanese tutor, spent two years on a working holiday in Australia, and backpacked through 13 Southeast Asian countries. Through these experiences, I met people from many different cultures and learned how fun and meaningful it is to communicate beyond language barriers.

Since I’ve also studied English myself, I understand how challenging learning a new language can be. That’s why I really admire your effort to learn Japanese, and I’d love to make that journey enjoyable and sustainable for you!

I’ll fully support your growth, but more than that, I want you to feel relaxed and talk to me like a friend, not just a teacher. Learning a language can be challenging to keep up, but consistency is the fastest way to improve.
