***About me***
Hi! I’m Akane, a Japanese tutor living in Scotland and love to travel all over the world!

I've been teaching Japanese online, in-person, and I've worked as a private tutor in Japan! I'm good at helping students to build confidence and stay motivated in the long term. Beginners are always welcome! More than half of my students started from complete beginner level, and you can see how they have improved their Japanese below↓

With my experience in office jobs, hospitality or working holidays, I can adapt each lesson to your goals and interests such as for someone who plans a trip to Japan, want to learn daily conversation, living in Japan, working holidays, or simply enjoying Japanese more!

***What you can expect***
More than half of my students started from complete beginners, and this is what most of them have achieved by studying with me:

🌸1 month--read hiragana, introduce themselves
🌸3 months--katakana, basic grammar, simple vocabs, some kanji
🌸6 months--short conversation in Japanese (e.g. shopping or trip)
🌸8 months--80% of lessons are in Japanese and be able to talk about most of things in Japanese (e.g. what they did last week or what's the plans for this week)

Of course, everyone learns at a different pace, but regular practice makes a big difference!


***A bit more about me***
I spent two years on a working holiday in Australia, and backpacked through 13 Southeast Asian countries. Through these experiences, I met people from many different cultures and learned how fun it is to communicate beyond language barriers. Since I’ve also been studying English myself, I understand how challenging learning a new language can be. That’s why I really admire your effort to learn Japanese, and I’d love to make that journey enjoyable and sustainable for you!

I’m also a barista at a world top 100 coffee shop, so if you love coffee, food, or travel, we will probably have a lot to talk about!
