Chiho Yamada

Hi! I’m Chiho, a native Japanese speaker from Japan and a university student currently studying in the UK. I have experience teaching Japanese to children from international backgrounds through a volunteer programme in Japan. I also worked as a tutor at a cram school in Japan, where I supported students with their studies and learned how to explain things clearly and patiently.

My lessons are friendly, relaxed and tailored to each student’s level and goals. Whether you are a complete beginner, want to improve your conversation skills, or would like to learn more natural Japanese, I will create lessons based on what you want to achieve. We can practise everyday conversations, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar and useful expressions for real-life situations.

I also enjoy introducing Japanese culture through language. I have experience learning traditional Japanese arts such as Ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement) and Japanese calligraphy, so I would be happy to share aspects of Japanese culture and everyday life during our lessons.

I believe that making mistakes is an important part of learning a language. My goal is to create a comfortable environment where you can speak Japanese without being afraid of making mistakes. I will support you at your own pace and make each lesson enjoyable and useful.
