Hi! I’m Akane, a Japanese tutor and barista living in Glasgow. I love travelling, driving, and enjoying good food (especially sushi and chocolate)!

I’ve been working as a Japanese tutor, spent two years on a working holiday in Australia, and backpacked through 13 Southeast Asian countries. Through these experiences, I met people from many different cultures and learned how fun and meaningful it is to communicate beyond language barriers.

Since I’ve also studied English myself, I understand how challenging learning a new language can be. That’s why I really admire your effort to learn Japanese, and I’d love to make that journey enjoyable and sustainable for you! And now, I'm trying to learn Spanish, French and Korean, too!

I’ll fully support your growth, but more than that, I want you to feel relaxed and talk to me like a friend, not just a teacher. Learning a language can be challenging to keep up, but consistency is the fastest way to improve.
