Hello! I'm a Physics tutor based in Edinburgh with an MSc in Theoretical Physics from the University of Edinburgh and a BSc in Physics. I'm passionate about helping students understand Physics, improve their problem-solving skills and develop the confidence needed to succeed academically.
I have previous experience teaching Physics and Mathematics to secondary-school students in classes 10–12 at Jay Classes. This experience helped me develop a patient, supportive teaching approach and an appreciation that every student learns differently.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MY LESSONS
My lessons are structured around your individual learning needs, academic level and goals. I begin by identifying your strengths and the topics you find challenging, then create a personalised learning plan.
I explain complex scientific concepts using clear, step-by-step explanations, diagrams, everyday examples and interactive problem-solving. Rather than encouraging memorisation, I focus on helping students understand why physical principles work and how to apply them.
SUBJECTS AND LEVELS
I offer support for GCSE, Scottish National 5, Higher and A-level Physics, covering topics such as mechanics, electricity, magnetism, waves, energy, thermodynamics and modern physics.
My strong mathematical background also allows me to help students with the calculations, algebra and mathematical reasoning required in Physics.
EXAM PREPARATION
For students preparing for examinations, I provide targeted revision, past-paper practice, exam-style questions and guidance on presenting clear, accurate answers. I help students recognise common mistakes, improve their problem-solving techniques and build examination confidence.
MY TEACHING APPROACH
I believe students learn best in a friendly and encouraging environment where they feel comfortable asking questions. I adapt the pace of each lesson to the student and provide constructive feedback throughout.
