Advert description
Hi I’m Emma, I’m a third year Biochemistry student at the University of Edinburgh, I studied Biology Chemistry and Physics at A-level and love helping people with stem subjects. I studied veterinary medicine for two years before transferring to my current degree, and received offers from Bristol and Edinburgh, top vet schools. I often advise my students who are prospective vet students on their applications.
I have been tutoring GCSE & A-level students for two years, helping them achieve consistent improvements in both grades and confidence, including multi-grade jumps from D predicted to As. I understand how challenging the step up to A-levels can be, and how easily students can lose confidence during this stage.
Having recently been through it myself, I relate to the pressures students face — in my own A-levels I went from BCD in my first-year mocks to A*A*A in my final results. I know exactly what it takes to move up grades, and I help students find the motivation and focus their efforts where it matters most to make those same leaps.
I provide not only subject support, but also clear, personalised learning paths that show students exactly how to put in the right kind of effort to get the results they want. This approach builds motivation, direction, and lasting confidence.
My sessions are primarily built around practice questions, with targeted theory or more traditional lesson time added whenever a student needs extra clarity. We start by covering any essential theory, then I demonstrate a clear, step-by-step “recipe” for approaching and solving problems.
