English Literature Tuition from a Kind, Oxford-educated Specialist

I am an Oxford-educated English Literature specialist with a Distinction from the University of Oxford and First-Class Honours in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh. I offer personalised tuition in English Literature, English Language, Creative Writing, History, and academic writing for students across the UK and internationally.

Since 2019, I have supported students preparing for GCSEs, A-Levels, Cambridge International qualifications, IELTS, CAT4 assessments, 11+, 13+, selective independent school admissions, and university applications. I specialise in helping students develop the skills that lead to academic success: critical thinking, confident communication, close reading, essay writing, and independent analysis.

My teaching approach is tailored to each student’s individual needs and goals. I design engaging lessons that build both subject knowledge and confidence, encouraging students to think independently and develop their own ideas. I have extensive experience teaching students in the UK and internationally, including students based in China, Hong Kong, and the UAE. I have helped students achieve excellent outcomes, including supporting A-Level coursework students to achieve A grades and preparing students successfully for admissions to leading independent schools.

Alongside tutoring, I am a published poet and essayist and work as an academic editor, bringing a deep understanding of language, literary analysis, and effective writing to my teaching. I am passionate about helping students discover confidence in their abilities and develop the skills they need to succeed academically and beyond.
