I am a student teacher and qualified nurse. My lessons are aimed at primary and secondary aged students.

I have been a qualified nurse for 20 years, where I have tutored student nurse on 1:1 basis and in groups. I was a lecturer in college, where I taught health and social care to classes of 30 or more. I am currently completing my teacher training, where I teach primary school classes of up to 30 students. I like to get to know my students interests and try and incorporate their interests into my lesson plan. I start my lessons with revisiting the previous learning. The following step is identifying the learning objectives which can be something specific that the student needs to focus on, or something from the curriculum. I have some examples of a success criteria which I can show the students, so the students can see what they should be aiming to achieve. I plan my lessons using templates from my university. I use a variety of resources to facilitate the learning including posters, videos and word banks. I will give the students small pieces of homework each day (e.g. 1-2 equations a day for maths sessions) to help cement the learning.
