Yinyong Zhang

I am a dedicated and enthusiastic piano tutor with a strong musical background and a passion for helping young learners develop both technical skills and a genuine love for music. I offer in-person lessons locally and online ABRSM Music Theory Grade 5 coaching. I hold an ABRSM Grade 8 Piano certificate (Distinction) and I have received systematic training under the Head of Piano Department at the Junior School of Shenyang Conservatory of Music since I was 5 years old.

Alongside piano, I have over 10 years of choral experience as an alto with Strathclyde University Chamber Choir(2014-present) and previously Huddersfield Choral Society( ), including a performance at the BBC Proms in 2023 with Huddersfield Choral Society.

Since 2024, I have been teaching beginner piano students, focusing on building a strong foundation through engaging and personalised lessons. My students have achieved excellent ABRSM practical and online results (high Merit and above) and prize-winning performances at the 2026 Glasgow Music Festival (Grades 1–4).

I also specialise in ABRSM Grade 5 Theory intensive courses, typically completed within 10–15 lessons (most students finish in 10), with consistently high results (high Merit and above).

My lessons are structured, engaging, and tailored to each student, combining enjoyment with strong discipline in technique and musical detail. I am particularly experienced in working with children and beginners, helping them build confidence and good practice habits from the start. I am committed to fostering a supportive learning environment where students feel inspired to excel. By maintaining clear communication with parents and setting achievable goals, I ensure every learner makes steady, rewarding progress toward their musical ambitions.
