2i Hons degree in Biochemistry (Imperial College). PhD in molecular biochemistry with a 12-year successful career in the lab prior to 25 years of teaching all three sciences for ages 11–16. My passion and strongest expertise lie in Chemistry. I also train Chemistry teachers to teach better, and have worked extensively with the Royal Society of Chemistry to write and deliver teacher training (INSET). I bring a wealth of expertise from diverse educational settings - including classrooms, labs, one-to-one mentoring, and supporting students with a wide range of needs. These experiences have deepened my practice of effective Chemistry teaching to the highest levels. My students tell me that I make a big difference to their understanding of Chemistry. I am also experienced in teaching Physics and Biology (11–16) and have a proven track record in fostering inclusion in science education. I have supported students across the full ability spectrum, including those with Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs), and am committed to providing personalised tutoring to help every individual student achieve their very best potential. Furthermore, I have strong skills in promoting positive learning behaviours and healthy attitudes towards learning. I have also successfully tutored a Maths student at Key Stage 2.
